WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022: 10 Things That Must Happen
5. Cody Rhodes Wins Again
One of this writer's good friends seems to think that Seth Rollins will cheat to beat Cody Rhodes at Backlash, level the score between them at 1-1 and then WWE will book a decider at Hell In A Cell. Being honest, this guy detests that thought, because there's no way Cody should be losing this early into his comeback run.
If anything, he should have Rollins' number and force the heel into a corner.
Unlike Edge vs. AJ Styles (with the whole ringside ban gimmick) and Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey ("I Quit"), this rematch doesn't come pre-packed with a tacked-on stip. Instead, it'll be a straight up pro wrestling match, and the action will probs be better for that focus.
Cody has made it crystal clear that he plans to wrestle his way to World Titles fairly. Meanwhile, Seth is the sort of devious sod who'll take any shortcut going. Come Sunday, that still shouldn't be enough to upset Rhodes sprint for the gold.
