The relationship between Edge and Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero was a tumultuous one like most on screen wrestling relationships are. Edge was a conniving heel while Vickie was so happy that anybody was interested in her that she was happy to do whatever he wanted. He used her to benefit his career. It fit his character as a jerk so perfectly. They got married on the July 18 episode of Smackdown although the actual wedding wasn't shown. They went a different route by having the reception in the Smackdown ring instead. The ceremony was interrupted by Triple H, who showed up with video of something that went down the night before the wedding. It featured the wedding planner, played by Alicia Fox, getting comfortable on a couch leading the two of them to make out on Hunter's hidden camera. After Vickie saw the footage, she started slapping Edge and yelled at him. He walked out of the ring. The show ended with Vickie looking like a fool for marrying a cheater like Edge. After that, their relationship was never the same. Less than a year later, they had their on screen divorce with Edge telling her that he only used her for her power and nothing ever really happened between them.
