9. Matt Hardy & Lita
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgHCB2jD0FI It was assumed for a while that Lita would wind up with one of The Hardy Boyz, after all, she was attached to their side ever since they saved her from Essa Rios in 2000. But the question was, which Hardy Boy would Lita date? Back then, the Internet wasn't as instrumental in the leaking of storylines or real-life facts ... so on RAW IS WAR, when Matt Hardy and Lita engaged in their epic "first kiss" in front of the WWE Universe, the arena erupted with cheers. The two went through their ups and downs, at first with Matt looking like the bad guy when he dumped Lita over a mistake she made as a referee during a heated match between Matt and his brother Jeff. They eventually reunited and were stronger than ever after The Undertaker attacked both Jeff and Lita during an episode of RAW. Matt remained loyal and dutiful during Lita's rehabilitation after surgery on a broken neck in 2002, and up until her return in 2003, where they split up again. This break up saw Matt once again doing the dumping, alleging that Lita cared more about regaining the Women's Championship than their relationship. This was right after Matt purposely sabotaged a Mixed Tag Team Match they were in against Eric Bischoff and Molly Holly, where Lita's job was on the line. Classy. They eventually got back together in 2004 (because apparently Lita's character was so hard up she felt the need to return to him), only to be terrorized by Kane and a huge "baby daddy" mess that I don't feel like recapping. Somewhere along the line, Lita had an affair with Edge, Matt's best friend. That's when Matt and Lita's real-life and on-screen relationships were irreversibly destroyed; leading to one of the hottest angles and most memorable rivalries in WWE history.
