WWE's 53 Wrestlers Ranked From Worst To Best

43. Los Matadores (Diego & Fernando)

wwe roster
Erik Beaston

Pros:

1. They have good chemistry with other tag teams

2. Popular with children

3. Can perform impressive aerial maneuvers

Cons:

1. El Torito is sometimes the focal point of their matches, not them

2. Gimmick is reminiscent of WWF early 90s ‘careers-as-wrestlers’ era

3. They are positioned very low on the card, and thus aren’t seen as credible threats

The Prime Time Players said it best: who ever heard of Puerto Rican bullfighters?

Diego (Primo Colon) and Fernando (Epico) were once an ordinary-looking tag team without much of a creative direction, until they donned cheesy matador costumes and became Los Matadores. This gimmick screams ‘early 90s WWF’, and is clearly geared towards the youngest audience members.

As a team, Diego and Fernando work well together and put on consistent matches, which are often highlighted by some out-of-the-ring aerial maneuver. Unfortunately, they’re more or less a comedy team, and thus aren’t expected to be taken seriously, even as title contenders. Their place is firmly at the bottom of the Tag Team Division, and they rarely enter the title scene unless they’re in a multi-team elimination match.

Still, someone has to hold that spot, and it looks like Los Matadores are the ones to do so.

Final Rating: **
