Pros:

1. Big, muscular, athletic, and can cut a decent promo (Big E)

2. Was once extremely popular and has shown that he can work well with most wrestlers (Kofi)

3. Has lots of experience from outside WWE (Woods)

Cons:

1. None of them stand out particularly well as individuals

2. Kofi in particular has been stuck in the mid-card since 2009

3. The New Day gimmick…all of it

If there was ever an example of WWE being afraid to take risks, it’s the New Day. Instead of creating a new heel team à la Nation of Domination, WWE took the safe route and turned three otherwise directionless black Superstars and made them into a positivity-loving church-esque group.

Each one of them is a very talented wrestler, yet they’re collectively doomed to the lower card with a terrible gimmick that either gets the opposite reaction from the one intended (fans chant ‘New…Day sucks’ when they try to get the crowd excited), or no reaction at all. This is especially irksome when there were obvious plans on making the group something much better and interesting, with Woods as a pseudo Malcolm X-like character.

They've recently started getting more exposure, and even scored a pinfall victory over Randy Orton and Roman Reigns. It looks like their stock in WWE is rising, but it's still to early to know for sure if they're going to enjoy a sustained push.

Final Rating: **3/4
