WWE's 53 Wrestlers Ranked From Worst To Best

25. Stardust

wwe roster

Pros:

1. A good wrestler who can put on a competitive match

2. Has taken a crappy gimmick and made it work

3. Has a history of mid-card success and victories against WWE veterans

Cons:

1. Should be much higher on the card by now

2. The ‘Stardust’ gimmick has been fully played out and should be done with by now

3. Isn’t given any real storyline direction anymore

Cody Rhodes was once a major prospect to be the future of WWE. He has feuded with main-eventers, was given a considerable singles push, and managed to make several different gimmick work well. Add to this a long list of good matches and you should, at least in theory, have a solid main-eventer by now.

Sadly, Cody has never managed to break that last barrier preventing him from reaching true main-event status. Maybe it’s because of his ties to Dusty Rhodes (who was mocked regularly by Vince during the Monday Night Wars), or maybe it’s because of his lisp; but whatever the reason, Cody has been stuck in the mid-card for too long.

Furthermore, his current ‘Stardust’ gimmick isn’t leading to anything significant. Cody could be a good main-eventer if he were to be taken seriously as a singles wrestler. However, he needs to do is ditch the outlandish gimmick he’s currently stuck with; because he’s never going to be seen as a real threat with his current gimmick.

Final Rating: ***1/4
