3. Some WWE fans still don’t like the name ‘Sin Cara’ because of the images it conjures up
The Lucha Dragons are an exciting tag team that has quickly become one of the most popular acts on RAW. Kalisto in particular is very reminiscent of Rey Mysterio during his peak years, dodging larger opponents’ offense and performing beautiful-looking lucha libre maneuvers, dazzling the audience. Though they’ve only been on RAW for a few weeks, they’re already one of the most popular teams on RAW. That says a lot about the popularity of lucha libre wrestling, even in this day and age,
The two of them are more than likely to get a tag team title shot somewhere down the road. They’re a very marketable team, especially since Mysterio has retired, and WWE aren’t likely to sell that many more Mysterio masks. As for Sin Cara, even though some people might not warm up to him because of the character’s…well…history, with Hunico under the mask, hopefully Kalisto won’t outshine Cara too much.
