WWE's 53 Wrestlers Ranked From Worst To Best

21. Roman Reigns

Pros:

1. Vince’s handpicked replacement for John Cena

2. Has plenty of fan support

3. Is improving bit by bit

Cons:

1. Fans reject him no matter what he does because 'he's the new John Cena'

2. Still needs a lot of improvement in terms of promo ability

3. Is already becoming boring and repetitive

Reigns has the look that Vince wants: muscular, intimidating, and apparently, a smash hit with the female audience. He has this ‘actions-speak-louder-than-words’ approach to getting his point across, which should make for an easy formula to create a new Superstar.

However, the fan reaction to Roman Reigns has been very polarizing. Last year, everyone wanted him to win the Royal Rumble because he was fresh and exciting. Now, so many fans are aware that he’s the hand-picked choice that they refuse to accept him, simply out of the virtue of not wanting to be told what to accept.

As a performer, Reigns is still limited, despite making lots of improvements in recent months. His matches are formulaic, his promos are subpar, and keeps getting rejected by many segments of the audience.

Despite his positive reactions, Reigns simply isn't ready for the World Title yet. He needs to grow as a performer, and become more comfortable on the microphone. That way, he can become a star on his own, without having the WWE corporate machine do the majority of his work for him.

Final Rating: ***1/2
