WWE's 53 Wrestlers Ranked From Worst To Best

15. Ryback

Pros:

1. Incredibly strong build

2. Very popular at both house shows and on WWE programming

3. One of the nicest guys in WWE right now, who’s always eager to meet and talk to fans

Cons:

1. Not the best in long matches

2. Not that great at promos either

3. Has been criticized for working stiff and causing injuries

Ryback is one of the few people in WWE for whom working three-minute squash matches really works. He doesn’t need to perform amazing aerial maneuvers like Neville or show technical grace like Daniel Bryan; he gets the necessary reaction by delivering painful-looking lariats and lifting two smaller wrestlers onto his shoulders on a regular basis.

As good as a Superstar he is, the only thing holding him back from the main event level is his booking. Despite his popularity, Ryback often works throwaway matches without rhyme or reason, and doesn’t get many opportunities to really showcase what he can do. Furthermore, his promos aren’t normally that great, and he has unfortunately garnered a reputation as an unsafe worker (due in part to CM Punk’s scathing comments).

Whether or not that’s true is up to debate. However, that could also be one of the main reasons why Ryback doesn’t hold a better spot on the card, despite being extremely popular.Nonetheless, Ryback is a good upper mid-carder, whom fans should continue to expect to see on the RAW roster long-term.

Final Rating: ***3/4
