WWE's Crystal Ball: 8 Predictions For Superstars In 2016
7. The Biggest Heel In The Company Will Be Samoa Joe
Watching NXT TakeOver Dallas, it became apparent to me that there is one true star who needs to be on the main roster in the WWE as soon as possible. No, its not Finn Balor and his Balor Club; no, its not Bayley upon losing her NXT Womens Championship; no, its not even the call-ups who actually debuted during WrestleMania week in Apollo Crews, Enzo & Cass, or Baron Corbin.
Its Samoa Joe.
Nobody gets being a heel like Samoa Joe in the entirety of the WWE. Kevin Owens has his moments, but his goal of being a family man is admirable; the League of Nations has go away heat more than anything; Roman Reigns, the most booed man in the company, is supposed to be a face. Joe has been around the block several times over, wrestling for companies like Ring of Honor, TNA, and many others while perfecting his craft. Unlike AJ Styles, he has the type of personality to be a breakout star, and he understands what it takes to kick down the proverbial doors that Bray Wyatt spoke of at WrestleMania.
With the WWE being a traditional babyface territory, Joe wouldnt necessarily need to hold a title in order to be a dominating force in main events throughout the years to come. In the land of no heels, hes exactly what they need.
Joe will play the monster well. The great thing about Joe that no one else has in the WWE is his ability to play up his size when it comes to working his opponents over, or shrinking down and pulling off insane acts of agility if its called upon to heighten the drama. This is a bold prediction for a bold performer, and one who is most deserving of such an honor.
