11. Mr. Perfect Vs. Rob Van Dam - Sunday Night Heat

Rob Van Dam was kind of the Daniel Bryan of 2002, this supposedly second tier babyface with a colossal (and unwanted) groundswell of fan support. Mr. Perfect was in the middle of his unfairly abbreviated comeback. Who fires a guy just for nearly killing an entire plane full of people while trying to fight Brock Lesnar?

In any case, the two did battle in this forgotten dream match on an episode of Sunday Night Heat. It's not the 20 minute back-and-forth that you'd want from these two, but everything that happens between them makes perfect sense.

Rob is just this freight train of momentum and fan goodwill and there's a sense of inevitability to him. Perfect is good, too; he's an all-time great, but he's a bit past his prime and worse, he's unfamiliar with RVD. He's trying to wrestle RVD like he's Bret Hart, and as soon as he grapples his way to a brief upper hand, Rob comes flying at him with a kick that screws up his game plan.
