WWE wrestler Jamar Hampton has spoken out against paying tribute to Hulk Hogan, who passed away at 71 years old last Thursday.

This comes in the wake of WWE airing full Hogan tributes on last Friday's SmackDown, Monday's Raw, and last night's NXT.

Hampton - who debuted for WWE at an NXT house show in November 2024 - posted, to Instagram, a quote including Hogan's use of the N-slur from his leaked sex tape with Heather Clem.

The since-deleted post came with the caption: "Is this really who we should be celebrating? Do ya research."

In the quote, Hogan claims "I'm racist to a point," before referring to Black people as "f***ing [N-slurs]". This was about Hulk's daughter, Brooke, potentially dating a Black man.

The sex tape in which Hogan made the racist remarks contributed immensely to the demise of his public perception. Initially leaked in 2012, the tape led to an invasion of privacy lawsuit between Hogan and Gawker, resulting, ultimately, in Hulk reaching a $31 million settlement with Gawker.

When Hogan's use of racist language came to light in 2015, WWE terminated its agreement with the retired wrestler, pulled his merchandise, removed him as a Tough Enough coach, and took him out of the Hall of Fame. This WWE exodus lasted until his Hall of Fame reinstatement in July 2018. By January 2019, he was back onscreen, presenting a tribute to the recently deceased 'Mean' Gene Okerlund, before making a guest appearance at WrestleMania 35 that April.

Hampton, a Performance Center trainee, has wrestled exclusively on LFG: Legends & Future Greats, EVOLVE, and the NXT house show circuit since signing with WWE.
