Paul Heyman and Vince McMahon haven't always seen eye-to-eye.

During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Heyman openly explained why things are a little different now between boss and employee. Previously, Paul described, he had a fraught relationship with McMahon due to the way his previous WWE run ended in 2006. Now, there's a much better atmosphere whenever they're in the same room.

In fact, Heyman says that he was flattered by Vince's comments during an investor conference call earlier this year. There, McMahon told of the fantastic job Paul had done as Executive Director of Raw. According to Heyman, the WWE patriarch just thought the show needed to go in a different direction.

There were no hard feelings.

When Vince broke the news to Paul, the pair shared a "smile, handshake and hug". Heyman claims there were "absolutely no harsh feelings" after the meeting between both men.

Now, things are good. Heyman is happy working on screen as 'Special Council' to Roman Reigns, and Vince is working with new Executive Director Bruce Prichard to fulfill his vision for Raw.

They're in a good place, which wasn't always the case.
