WWE's Sonya Deville Wants To Compete For "Men's Titles"
Sonya believes that's the next logical step.
Sonya Deville has told Forbes that competing for the men's titles in WWE is the next logical step for women in the company.
Further, Deville wants to be one of the first to lead the way for others and "pioneer the concept".
Charlotte Flair had previously spoken in the media about working matches with men and winning what are traditionally male championships. Now, Deville wants to lend her support to Flair's argument and do exactly the same thing.
WWE don't book a lot of inter-gender action on their broadcasts, and haven't really promoted male on female violence for years now. It may be a tough ask to change that, but Sonya can take inspiration from the likes of Tessa Blanchard (who won Impact's top prize before leaving the promotion).
Deville noted that it's 2020 and that "anything’s possible". She has blossomed into one of the better characters on SmackDown lately, and is showing serious confidence on the mic and in-ring.
Any opportunity WWE throw at her would be deserved.
Sonya thinks it's time for true equality to shine through and for women to compete for every belt available.
