"Who the f*ck hired Raven"?"

Not exactly "What about me?" but sort of kind of close to it actually, considering who made the infamous exclamation.

These words - or a loose approximation of them - were supposedly the ones uttered by Vince McMahon himself when Scott Levy's ECW success story gimmick came across his desk in the year 2000, a full year after the former Johnny Polo left WCW and nearly six since he left WWE. A wrestling lifetime had passed for all involved, and as if to illustrate this fact, Raven's return to the company at one of its commercial and creative peaks found him in the most route one of roles.

Rather than pulling up trees as the misanthrope that had been a revelation for Paul Heyman or even the tweaked version he broadened for the benefit of the 1997/98 Nitro television audience, Levy was the radio silent friend of fellow Extreme alumni Tazz. It mattered not that he'd been miserable during his paid holiday back with the promotion following an acrimonious exit from Eric Bischoff's failing WCW, or that the two weren't really ever on the same page in the company during their original spells. They'd just been there, and that was enough for McMahon to keep them busy with while he focused his energy and resources on talent he actually knew he was acquiring him,
