CM Punk's pipe bomb on Raw in 2011 was a watershed moment for the company, as it looked to embrace the fervour of the internet wrestling community and their feelings toward WWE. Punk acted as if he was deviating from the script, sitting atop the entrance ramp and cutting a promo that berated WWE for a whole range of issues.
"Vince McMahon is going to make money despite himself. Hes a millionaire who should be a billionaire. You know why hes not a billionaire? Because he surrounds himself with glad-handed, non-sensical, douchebag yes men, like John Laurinaitis, whos going to tell him everything he wants to hear, and Id like to think that maybe this company will better after Vince McMahon is dead. But the fact is, its going to be taken over by his idiotic daughter and his doofus son-in-law and the rest of his stupid family."
The chatter the next day about if was it real or fake was off the charts, but it was of course all a work!
