Shawn Michaels in the 90's was an edgy guy, and he could sell as well as anyone. So when he collapsed in the ring on the November 20th 1995 Raw, many fans bought it hook, line and sinker. There was genuine shock and worry at Michaels' seemingly alarming condition. It was all produced to come across as a real life medical emergency. Michaels had been wrestling Owen Hart, who hit an Enzeguri earlier in the action. HBK out of the blue became dazed, staggering, before falling down. Owen then sold concern, as did Mr Fuji and Jim Cornette at ringside. Cutting to commercial, the show came back with Michaels still down and Vince McMahon in the ring. EMT staff started tending to the star and the camera showed fans in the crowd crying. It was one of the first worked shoots in WWF's big league history, creating an absolute storm of sensationalism.
