5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Monday Night Raw (24 November - Results & Review)

5. A Match With Cool Moves

Giving a “down” to a perfectly acceptable match involving the ageless Rey Mysterio seems like sacrilege, but it also is difficult to give positive marks to a bout that had the usefulness of a paperweight on a Gen-Alpha’s desk.

Mysterio and JD McDonagh wrestled a perfectly competent exchange of moves Monday night, with the Judgment Day’s punching bag hanging with the luchador throughout. McDonagh countered a 619 with a running Spanish Fly, while Mysterio turned an attempted Devil Inside into a Code Red. In the end, Rey nailed a 619 and Dropped the Dime to pick up the obvious win.

It is understandable that WWE has to park the father-and-son feud for the moment while Dirty Dom gears up to face John Cena at Survivor Series, so putting Rey out there to face another Judgment Day member makes sense, but that doesn’t make the match more meaningful or impactful. It just adds a layer of context.
