6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Saturday Night's Main Event (13 December - Results & Review)

2. Meaningless Side Commentary

Whose bright idea was it to have Stephanie McMahon appear as a color analyst not once, not twice, but three (technically four) times during a two-hour broadcast?

Steph appeared alongside Joe Tessitore from the Okerlund position overlooking the arena to comment on the evening as it unfolded. Not once did McMahon say anything remotely interesting or insightful.

The opening salvo saw Tess ask Steph about her actual, very real role in helping save John Cena’s career (she famously heard him rap on a tour bus and brought that talent to television, launching the Doctor of Thuganomics character). Instead of leaning into that softball, McMahon gave a boilerplate comment about how everyone in attendance was there to pay tribute to Cena.

UGGH. Just an utter waste of time, made worse when you realize she could have actually told a story many fans might not have known.
