5. Less Matches, More Time
Battleground was interesting in that it totally broke away from WWE's traditional booking of shows. There were only six main card matches, three of which went over fifteen minutes. The longest match was Reigns versus Wyatt, which ran for twenty two minutes and forty two seconds. This could be the format WWE go forward with in the future, as fewer matches means more time to have meaningful contests. It worked here, as none of the matches could be described as bad. When they do other shows with eight matches, mostly under ten minutes, it is so much harder for the workers to perform with quality. Battleground demonstrated that in-ring work can benefit from smaller cards.
