One of the biggest things that Battleground did, was move Seth Rollins on from the Brock Lesnar narrative. The shadow of the former champion has loomed large over Rollins' reign, but now that's over and we move on to a new feud for Seth. That also tells us something very important about how WWE views the champion. He obviously isn't being blamed for the recent low ratings. Instead, they're going to continue to invest in him as their champion. It is approaching a half year reign now and the future looks like he'll continue to be established as a main star. They had every opportunity to get the title off him, be it a Lesnar win or Sheamus cash in. Instead they're sticking the course and the future looks as bright as every for the effective heel.
