For months, the direction it appeared WWE was heading in was Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 32. And why shouldn't it have been? The match made all the sense in the world, especially given their storied history from NXT. Yet that didn't stop WWE from altering the matchup by adding another five guys to it and throwing in a Ladder match stipulation at random.

Well, that change in plans ultimately worked out for the better, specifically for Zack Ryder. For a guy who didn't participate in the Royal Rumble match this past January, it was unbelievable he would be contending for a title at WrestleMania, and of course, he was the least likely to win. That said, if anyone deserved that slot at The Show of Shows, it was him. Victory wasn't even on his mind; all he wanted was to hear his music play as he made his entrance down the ramp.

Ryder ended up achieving much more than just that at 'Mania this year, knocking The Miz off the top of the ladder to retrieve the strap for himself in one of the biggest upsets in the event's history. The 100,000 plus fans in the AT&T Stadium gave him an amazing ovation as he held the title high above his head, signifying that the Ryder Revolution had only just begun.
