10 Things You Didn't Know About Magneto

3. He's In Love With Rogue

Even though Magneto has a number of children, and even grandchildren, he's never been exactly lucky in love. While the movie franchise has introduced a romantic link between Magneto and Mystique, the two were never particularly close in the comic books. When Magneto took over as headmaster of the Xavier school he quickly took an interest in one student in particular. A relationship quickly blossomed between the two, with Magneto teaching Rogue to control her powers. Such was his success that the pair were even able to share a kiss.

Although Rogue's first relationship with Magneto turned out to have been with his clone, the two have been going back and forth between being lovers, friends, allies, and enemies ever since. On a side note, the relationship between the pair is often a feature of alternate universes. In Age of Apocalypse, the pair are not only married, but have a young son named Magnus. Another version of Magnus appeared in spin-off series Exiles, where the boy's combination of his parents' powers resulted in him accidentally turning his mother into a solid lump of metal.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
