10 Surprisingly Violent Deaths In Family Friendly Movies

8. Judge Doom (Who Framed Roger Rabbit)

Tarzan Clayton
Buena Vista Pictures

Current BBFC Rating: PG (same in cinemas).

Cause of Death: Flattened by steam roller, burned alive by acid.

Judge Doom's death was certainly deserved given the way he treated other toons throughout Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and it was fittingly horrendous to boot.

His look of panic, with his arms flailing around wildly as he tries to escape the steamroller, is pretty hard-hitting, and you can't help but feel sorry for the guy despite his evil behaviour up to that point.

As if imagining the immense pain being flattened would bring wasn't enough, the movie gives us more, with Doom meeting the same fate as his many victims: melting in a pool of acid.

It's this that really makes the scene horrifying. His creepy screams of panic as he slowly wastes away are the stuff of nightmares, and his bulging cartoon eyes only add to the disturbing effect.

It's hard to imagine a child watching this and not being utterly petrified, and given the film's relatively tame PG rating, that's probably happened on numerous occasions.
