Insomniac's Spidey game may not release until September, but the studio has actually been keen to disclose some of its more intricate details. More are likely to follow at this June's Electronic Entertainment Expo (as a side, you can read our wants for E3 here), and though they've certainly been more forthcoming with information than other studios, a lot about Marvel's Spider-Man seems to have flown underneath the radar.
The most intriguing issue for many, it seems, lies in how Insomniac are building this new world. Much like Batman: Arkham, the Ratchet and Clank developers have opted to create their own version of the Marvel Universe, complete with all its heroes, villains and supporting characters.
Whether or not the title will reach the same qualitative heights as that series is still in doubt, but Insomniac's insistence on world building should give cause for excitement. Over a dozen characters have been confirmed so far, and with allusions to the wider Marvel Universe featuring in pretty much every trailer - and tie-in novel - this could be the start of something much, much bigger.
