Man Utd 0-1 Newcastle - 5 Things We Learned

History was made at Old Trafford on Wednesday, December 4. Everton, who had not won at Old Trafford since 1992, went and beat Manchester United in their own backyard to stun the home crowd. And, three days later, Newcastle United recorded a page of history themselves, prevailing away from home against the English champions for the first time since 1972. Two home defeats in the space of just three days have wrecked United's title challenge and left manager David Moyes on the brink. As for Newcastle, they're up to seventh and but two points off a Europa League place - something which most United fans would probably take now with their chances of finishing in the top four looking slimmer by the week. It was Yohan Cabaye who heaped this latest pile of misery on Moyes's men, the Frenchman popping up on the hour mark to rifle home Moussa Sissoko's pass across the box, albeit against the run of play. United had their chances - Patrice Evra's header was only denied by part post-part Vurnon Anita's arm, and Robin van Persie head a close-ranged header ruled out for offside. But in the end, the full time whistle blew on a momentous Newcastle win, and here are 5 Things We Learned.
