5. Joleon Lescott
Joleon Lescott has found himself increasingly marginalised at the Etihad this season and looks destined for a summer move after falling down the pecking order at Manchester City, with Roberto Mancini preferring a centre-back pairing of Matija NastasiĀ and Vincent Kompany, leaving the former Everton man well and truly on the fringes. He has only played nine full games this term and
will be seeking more regular first team action next season in order to force his way back into contention for the England side. Lescott needs regular football, and Newcastle need a quality centre-back. It just makes sense. There's still a lot of uncertainty regarding the future of club captain Fabricio Coloccini after the Argentine went into meltdown during the January window and
demanded to leave. If he does go, Newcastle would struggle to find a better centre-back within their budget than Lescott.
