Newcastle Transfers: 5 Signings To Break The Top 6 Again

4. Loic Remy

Newcastle thought they had signed Loic Remy in the January window only for the Frenchman to instead snub them for a move to Queens Park Rangers in favour of a bigger payday. Along with Christopher Samba, Remy arrived at Loftus Road in a big-money deal as part of a desperate bid to keep the R's in the Premier League this season. But despite Remy's 4 goals in 6 Premier League appearances this term, it looks like his decision to move to West London rather than the North East is going to come back to haunt him with his side languishing second from bottom and within real danger of being relegated to the Championship. When he signed for QPR, he reportedly negotiated a "get out clause" should Harry Redknapp's side be dumped from the top flight, and it's very difficult to see him sticking around next season for Championship football. Has this provided Newcastle with a second opportunity to sign Remy? They were the favourites to land him in January before his shock move, but the question is, can they forgive him for snubbing them for more money?
