Newcastle Transfers: 6 Deals Pardew Could Complete Today

Who would have thought that 9 deals wouldn't yet be enough?

Were it not for the manner of Newcastle's three league performances so far this season, a summer spent acquiring 9 new players - some on loan and some to join later - might have been classed a run away success. The problem, in many ways is that the new additions have made the team's advances look only like missed opportunities and the team an unfinished puzzle. Newcastle might have found a new ability to keep the ball and pass it well, but without a striker to take advantage of either, the whole endeavour will be proven pointless. And without a centre-half to shore up the defence, and take Mike Williamson - an unfair scapegoat perhaps, but an unhelpful presence because of what he represents to set-piece tactics - any minimal chance of scoring is wiped out by poor defending. Newcastle's business cannot be done yet, or fans will once more head into the rest of September wondering at what could have been, and facing another window in January with the club NEEDING to strengthen certain positions, rather than simply looking to strengthen the squad as a whole. So with that in mind, we're looking at the 6 deals - both incoming and outgoing - that Newcastle could well, and very much need to consider getting done today.
