Newcastle United: 8 Best Players Of The Season So Far

1. Moussa Sissoko

Since he signed and put in a blistering first couple of games against Aston Villa and Chelsea, Moussa Sissoko has been a divisive figure at Newcastle: his stats suggest he is one of the most creative players in the squad (he was last season certainly), but his running style out wide tends to lead more to brick walls being hit rather than crosses being put in. But moved into the middle - or the front of a middle three - Sissoko has found his feet more. Centre-backs are less happy being ran at by midfielders - as Man City's clownish attempts to deal with him on Wednesday proved - and he's far better being able to see passes all around him, rather than simply being encouraged to run head down at the full-back. He might still be good out on the right, but he's a lot better in the middle right now, and Alan Pardew should heed his own lesson and keep the Frenchman there for the rest of the season - at least until Siem De Jong is back in contention for that role. Which of these players do you think has played the best so far this season? Vote for yours below...
