Newcastle United: 8 Best Players Of The Season So Far

2. Rolando Aarons

The young Jamaican born attacking midfielder might well be the revelation of the season: he's been thrust into the limelight very quickly having predicted that he would surprise a few people this year back in January, and he's taken his chances admirably. Starting in pre-season, Aarons' progressive attacking play has been a big part of the team whenever he's been on the pitch, and it's no accident that he already has two goals, despite missing a sizeable chunk of the season with an injury. He is the future of Newcastle for as long as the club think keeping him on the pitch will make more money than selling him on to Liverpool - who will no doubt be linked with a bid given their fondness for young, quick English wide men. And hopefully that won't come before he's had the opportunity to bed himself into the first team and increased his value to what it genuinely could be (pricing all but Man City and Chelsea out of the running). He is the real deal, and even despite how little he's played so far, he deserves to be called the revelation of the year so far.
