20 Actors Who Have Appeared In Both Classic And New Doctor Who
10. Gabriel Woolf
Appearing in one of the most famous Fourth Doctor serials The Pyramids of Mars, Gabriel Woolf plays villain Sutekh, an Osrian planning on destroying all life in the universe. As he tries to free himself from the Black Pyramid, the Fourth Doctor mentions how he is known by other names, including Typhonian Beast, Set, Sadok, Seth and Satan. Which works out quite swimmingly when one discovers that Woolf is also the voice of the Beast in the Tenth Doctor episodes The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit. (Side note: Remember how in The Name of the Doctor, the Great Intelligence says that one day the Doctor will be known as the Beast and the Valeyard? Interesting...) Additionally, Woolf voices the character Rossiter in the Sixth Doctor audio adventures Arrangements For War and Thicker Than Water. Not a bad run for an actor whose face has never been seen on screen.
Sara Habein is the author of INFINITE DISPOSABLE. She is a staff writer for Persephone Magazine, and the editor of the Word Riot blog. Her Doctor is number Eight, but the Twelfth is right behind.
