9. Pick Up The Loose Ends
I've fallen in love with some characters whose time on the show has ended and I would love to see more of them. It would be fun to do a Christmas special or just a couple of one-off shows to let us revisit old friends, either in flashback form like River and the Doctor dating (an expanded version of those extras on the DVD) or Rose and the duplicate Doctor in the parallel universe and see how they are faring being normal. Would the Doctor be working at the local chippie, or be the IT guy for a big corporation? Would he have aligned himself with Torchwood, or be writing history book on what really happened? Would he just be a stay at home dad? It would be fun to jump back in time to see Amy and Rory in the past, solving alien mysteries, kind of like Sarah Jane did in her spin-off. Captain Jack could visit these scenarios looking for the real Doctor; since he was not there when they were all cast into their various lives, he would not be crossing his own timeline, therefore, it could be possible. In life, we're all too busy rushing forward; sometimes, it's fun to look back and reminisce with old friends and make sure they're happy and well. I know they're just characters, not real people, but I do feel a connection to them.
