10 WWE Stars Who Could End Rusev's Reign Of Terror

Who could step up and end Rusev’s personal Cold War?

The landscape of professional wrestling is covered with performers who at one time or another in their career were billed as €œunbeatable monsters.€ (Think Goldberg, Ryback, Vladimir Kozlov or even the Great Khali.) The undefeated streak and dominant heel gimmicks are two mainstays in our favorite so-called sport, though they are done to varying degrees of success. Goldberg is probably the gold standard for this type of gimmick, while someone like a Kozlov or Brodus Clay are at the other end of the spectrum. Ending such a gimmick is a touchy issue €“ the promotion has spent months building up a star, and usually there is no end game laid out. But when they finally are beaten, it should mean something. In a lot of cases, the dominant phase ends unceremoniously, such as the way WWE booked itself into a corner with Ryback, and he went from being one of the most over maulers to a guy in a tag team getting beat in 2-on-1 handicap matches. Currently, WWE has resurrected one of the great heel gimmicks: the dominant foreign invader. Rusev, along with Lana, have been waving the Russian flag in WWE rings for several months now. He€™s been built up as a dominant heel beating jobbers and low mid-carders for some time now. At some point, WWE has to decide whether he€™s going to be used to elevate a fellow mid-carder or be elevated himself to boost someone to an even bigger level. With that being said, there are several wrestlers out there who are possibilities for finally handing Rusev his first defeat in WWE. Who could step up and end Rusev€™s personal Cold War? It all depends on how far WWE is willing to go.
