WWE: 10 Best Wrestling Matches Of The Past 10 Years

2. CM Punk Vs John Cena - Money In The Bank, (2011)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peMpm_HPewQ When CM Punk faced John Cena in 2011, everything was perfect. The stars aligned. Punk was coming into it off the back of one of the best promos ever heard and the event was to take place in his hometown of Chicago. The vocal support for the star was the loudest we have ever heard on WWE pay per view. Add to that the fact he was going against the biggest star of the industry John Cena and had an ultra compelling storyline of leaving the company - it was stacked with potential for greatness. The in-ring action and the result lived up to expectations. Punk and Cena fought it out for over half an hour of impeccably timed and executed chain wrestling into big spots and near falls. The excitement in the arena was electric as both men appeared certain winners as they both hit and kicked out of each other finishers. It was the most unpredictable and compelling last ten minutes to a match you will ever see and watching it live was perhaps the most thrilling main event to ever headline a pay per view. When Punk got the victory it was the perfect conclusion to one of the greatest WWE pieces of storytelling ever seen. It was so good that this became the first WWE match to achieve Dave Meltzer's 5 star Wrestling Observer rating since 1997. High praise indeed ... Meltzer's best WWE match in 14 years and it featured John Cena.
