WWE: 10 Greatest Babyface Turns In History

10. Batista

http://youtu.be/bXrZ0QaIf7M Beginning in 2005, the seeds for Batista to become a babyface had been planted from before New Year's Revolution 2005, but the real break from the nefarious faction Evolution took around another two months. The reaction that he received from the crowd after his Royal Rumble victory was extremely positive, and many began to suspect who he would challenge in his main event match at Wrestlemania - the WWE Champion JBL, or his mentor and friend, World Heavyweight Champion Triple H. Triple H would spend an age plotting for Batista's transfer to Smackdown, suggesting that the Animal was not capable of deciding what was best for him. These subtle insults and less than amicable actions by Triple H eventually struck a nerve with Batista, when during his contract signing for the Wrestlemania match at RAW or Smackdown, he chose to battle The Game for his championship. This generated cheers and shouts from the live audience, which were only heightened when Batista set out his intentions by powerbombing the Evolution leader through a table. Batista would go on to win the title at Wrestlemania 21, and would go on to maintain his status of a successful babyface until 2009. The WWE certainly did an excellent job here of gradually building a superstar under the tutelage of an established heel, and just gradually built up the audience anticipation of his eventual breakout on his own.
