WWE confirmed 2 more matches for WrestleMania 42 on this week's SmackDown, but not everything was rosy in the garden. In fact, not much has been rosy for the build towards 'Mania, especially for some of the bigger title bouts on the blue side. Fans are refusing to go along with the idea that it's 2009 again and Randy Orton is some supervillain, and the Women's Title stuff between Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley is pure garbage.

Lord only knows how Triple H is managing to muck up one of the easiest alpha female vs. alpha female stories available, but he's giving it a right good go. Sadly, there isn't much juice in the Women's United States Title scene either - Giulia is going nowhere as champion, and potential challengers like Tiffany Stratton feel less impressive by the week.

On the plus side, Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu are doing some top work with their blood feud on the upper midcard, and now they've got something to sink their teeth (ahem) into next month on PLE. Other highlights involved Jelly Roll and Kit Wilson, The Bella Twins and their ongoing bid to win tag gold, and Sami Zayn scoring his own 'Mania guarantee by beating Carmelo Hayes.

Far too much about WWE's product just feels clunky and uninspired though, and it's a problem on both major brands. Here's all the good and bad from a show that tried to get some momentum going by punching through title changes and forcing Randy into a role people aren't buying.
