Femi's coronation gets sidetracked by a Beast, Rollins jumps the line, plus mediocre wrestling.

Depending on how you view the entire concept of continuing a feud between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar, Raw on Monday night was either an electrifying show that delivered shock waves throughout the company in advance of SummerSlam, or it was a colossal letdown and cop-out that had negative trickle-down effects that reverberated throughout the evening.

Despite winning King of the Ring, Oba made a fateful decision Monday night after Brock returned, which opened the door for a very familiar foe to step up and challenge Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. That bait-and-switch might have gone over well with fans in the moment because WWE dangled something else, but when dispassionately comparing the two, it’s tough to consider this anything other than a cop-out

Beyond that booking and its after-effects, WWE produced some very uneven television Monday night - below-average wrestling at times, a questionable character development, and just some uninspired segments.

Raw is on its heels these days, and there really isn’t much that’s firing except for Femi, and now he’s been somewhat derailed, so it’s hard to be overwhelmingly positive.
