10 Comic Book Characters Who Wouldn't Translate To Live-Action Movies
2. Wonder Man
Stan Lee was responsible for creating some of the most iconic comic book characters in history. Wonder Man is not one of those characters. Wonder Man is the poor man's Superman with worse fashion sense.
Simon Williams is the son of a powerful industrialist who inherits the family company after his father's death. The company, Williams Innovations, is marginalized by Tony Stark and Stark Industries due to their success in the market.
After being caught embezzling funds, a desperate Simon agrees to be a stooge for Baron Zemo and infiltrate the Avengers. He is then given his ionic abilities. These essentially make him super at everything... except flying. He has a special rocket pack in his belt for that.
Wonder Man has had an "on again, off again" relationship with The Avengers over the years. He notably spent some time on their "B" Team, West Coast Avengers.
Nathan Fillion filmed scenes as Wonder Man for Guardians of The Galaxy 2, but his scenes were cut from the film. If anyone can make Simon Williams work, its Fillion. If Captain Malcolm Reynolds can't get Wonder Man in the final cut, maybe it's for the best.
