10 Comic Book Characters Who Wouldn't Translate To Live-Action Movies
1. Booster Gold
Michael Jon Carter is an obnoxious glory hound from the future who is obsessed with fame and wealth. Sounds like every good hero origin story. That is how it started for Booster Gold.
Carter was a gifted athlete from the future whose father was a degenerate gambler. He convinced Michael to intentionally tank games to collect on bets. After being exposed and disgraced, he kept the poor choices going. Carter took a job in a museum that held various superhero artefacts. After devising a plan to become a superhero and become rich, Carter stole a few of these artefacts, including a Legion of Superheroes flight ring and Brainiac 5's force field belt.
He then used Rip Hunter's time sphere to travel back to the 20th Century and make a name for himself. Booster Gold is a rarity on this list in that he has been a member of DC's "A" team, the Justice League. He also briefly appeared in the live-action series, Smallville.
Not every hero has to be Captain America. We like our heroes with an edge to them. Batman has edge. Wolverine has edge. Booster Gold isn't edgy. He's Gordon Gekko with a utility belt.
