10 DC Characters Who Could Defeat The Avengers

Which DC heroes and villains can defeat the Avengers all by themselves?

Batman Hulk
DC Comics/Marvel Comics

The Avengers are perhaps the most celebrated superhero group today. Thanks to the MCU, Iron Man et al. have become the biggest draws of the superhero genre, as we have come to look upon the likes of Hulk, Thor, Captain America and co. as the ultimate defenders of earth. However, are the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, really the mightiest?

Because over on the DC side of things, there are plenty of folks who could go toe to toe with the Avengers and not only hold their ground, but also do what Thanos couldn’t. From powerful aliens such as Superman to less heard of figures with mysterious powers, the vast pages of DC comics are filled with characters who could very well defeat the collection of Marvel’s best.

A few disclaimer points before getting to the list; the Avengers line-up being considered here is Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, i.e the original MCU six. And yes it’s true this excludes so many key members, but at the same time, it must be taken into consideration that the total number of Avengers over the decades is a number far too large to be contained in one article.

Secondly no cosmic entities are included, as that would make this list rather boring. And finally, the list is not in any particular order of strength. Rather, the earlier entries are the obvious ones, while the later entries are the ones that may surprise you.

10. Wonder Woman

Right, so let’s get the obvious out of the way at the very beginning. No matter who you’re considering as opposition, when it comes to one-person armies, one of the first people who come to mind, is the Princess of Themyscira. And even when going one on six against the entire Avengers line-up, Diana can more than hold her ground.

Let’s go through the Avengers one by one and see how the fight would play out. She would be invulnerable to most of Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Captain America’s attacks, while her own powerful connection to magic should help her fend off Thor, not to mention her bracelets deflecting any thunder strikes thrown her way.

Hulk would most likely be the stiffest challenge. But then again, the Incredible One did lose a fist fight to a non-Infinity Gauntlet powered Thanos. Given Wonder Woman’s incredible raw strength that has defeated many of the most powerful characters in the DC universe, the round would probably go to Diana.
