10 Dumbest Supervillain Schemes You Won't Believe
9. Green Goblin Cast Spider-Man In A Movie
In Green Goblin's debut, the comic opens with Norman Osborn building a metallic broomstick. Upon its completion, he dons the Green Goblin outfit and vows to destroy Spider-Man by... casting him in a film. What's the broomstick have to do with anything? No idea. Goblin never uses it again.
Osborn visits an Oscar-winning director and says his next movie will be a blockbuster if Spider-Man is in it. (Why a film director would listen to a man in a goblin outfit is anyone's guess, but here we are.)
Goblin tracks down Spider-Man and tells them there is a director who wants to work with him. Spidey agrees, believing he can use his wages to care for Aunt May.
When Spider-Man appears on set, he is told to rehearse a scene where he beats up some thugs. Unfortunately, Spidey doesn't know that the "actors" are criminals called The Enforcers. Although they are visibly armed, Spider-Man assumes The Enforcers' weapons are props and so, let's his guard down, allowing them to attack him.
This ruckus awakens the Hulk who happened to be asleep in a nearby cave (what are the odds?). Realising that they are no match for the jade brute, the criminals and the Goblin flee.
