First, Gotham is terrorised by a new villain named Doctor Phosphorus who is turning the city’s water toxic. Then, multiple old enemies resurface, including the Joker and Hugo Strange. And to top it all off, Bruce finally meets someone who can get the better of him emotionally.

Ultimately Batman must overcome all these foes and protect his city from both the enemies in front and those hiding within its own system.

It ticks every single box you could set for a Batman movie. And using this as the basis for the plot could go some way towards ensuring the fans embrace said movie.
