Believe it or not, Wolverine hasn't always been the most marketable X-Men character by default. Because of this, and in an effort to drive up interest in the character among younger viewers, the 2003 animated series X-Men: Evolution introduced X-23 (aka Laura Kinney), Wolverine's clone daughter who had been designed as the ultimate killing machine.

The character's inner struggle with her creation and purpose has since been fleshed out significantly. Laura made her comic book debut in the adult-oriented mini-series NYX, which explored her (as well as other characters') dark experiences.

She has since become a mainstay of Marvel Comics' X-Family, starring in several different series, including her own, and even taking up the mantle of Wolverine after Logan was killed off.

Perhaps X-23's most notable appearance, however, was her central role in 2017's Logan, which is already being considered one of the single greatest comic book films ever made, due in no small part to Dafne Keen's performance as the character.

Laura Kinney has certainly made a major impact on Marvel over the last fifteen years, both on and off the page, and we have X-Men: Evolution to thank for it all.
