10 Most Embarrassing Batman Moments
7. His Parenting Skills Were Questions By Social Services
Batman's greatest defeat was not when Bane broke his back; it was when he failed to stop the Joker from killing the second Robin, Jason Todd. Batman didn't see Jason as a sidekick; as far as he was concerned, Jason was his son.
What made Jason's death more horrific was the fact that no one would let him stay buried. The Joker constantly ridiculed Bats for failing to rescue the Boy Wonder. Barbara Gordon, who is better-known as Batgirl, repeatedly scolded Bruce, saying he should have never encouraged Jason to play superhero.
Sadly, Jason's death wasn't just a tragedy; it was a legal issue. A social services employee called Felix Desidero had Bruce Wayne investigated, believing his actions contributed to Jason's murder.
Desidero had interrogated Bruce's other wards and Robins, Dick Grayson and Tim Drake, hoping to find some dirt to use against him.
Jason came back to life years later (long story), and told Bruce he did everything in his power to save him and so, shouldn't feel guilty. Nevertheless, Desidero's investigation was humiliating, since it put a spotlight on Bruce's biggest failure.
