10 Most Heroic Things Doctor Doom Has Ever Done

One of the most defining features of Doctor Doom is the fact that he is the ruler of his own nation, which means that the FF can't just knock down his door and kick his butt, they have to play by the rules. But of course this begs the question of HOW he came to be the ruler of Latveria in the first place, seeing as how his origin puts him at the bottom of the small country's social totem pole.

Well the long and short of it was that the people of Latveria didn't exactly have a ton in the way of options.

Latveria at the time was under different, much harsher totalitarian rule, so when Doom rolled up and promised to be just a bit nicer to Latveria's citizens, and then gave them the weapons and tools to overthrow their oppressive regime and install Doctor Doom as their new ruler.

Now, granted, how Doom actually operates as a rule depends on which writer you consult, but generally speaking the people of Latveria consider themselves to be way better off under Doom's heel. Universal healthcare and stable economy buys a LOT of loyalty, after all.
