10 Most Powerful Characters Killed By Blade

9. Xarus

Blade Vampires
Marvel Comics

Xarus was the son of Dracula and was highly critical of how his father was running his vampire empire. At one point, he planned to turn all of San Francisco into vampires and turned the mutant Jubilee into one to lure her fellow X-Men. This ran him afoul of the mutants who sought Dracula’s aid against Blade’s advice and Dracula ripped Xarus’ head off.

When Xarus returned to life, he returned as the Shadow Colonel, a supposedly dissident vampire intent on challenging Dracula for the throne and going so far as to weed out some of the weaker competition. The Colonel allied himself with the Legion of the Unliving. When the Avengers arrived to help the Romanians caught in the crossfire, the Shadow Colonel surrendered. He was taken to Avengers Mountain but once there, the Hell-hound Sarge took possession of Ghost rider and they escaped in the Hellcharger.

While the Avengers were dealing with the Ghost rider in Madripoor, The Legion went to Russia and turned the entire Sol-Llestsk Penal Colony # 9 into vampires to swell their ranks. The Avengers arrived to stop the outbreak and Blade dealt a devastating blow to Xarus, removing his right leg, right arm, and head. Although he was definitely defeated, the head remained quite chatty and his body was taken to the new vampire nation of Chernobyl.
