10 Most Powerful Characters Killed By Thor

6. Sentry - Siege #4

Thor vs Hulk Marvel
Marvel Comics

Also known as Robert Reynolds, the Sentry has a lot more to him than being a simple Superman rip-off. For starters, he is basically a Super-Soldier experiment gone horribly right and, unlike his more heroic counterpart in DC, struggles immensely with his mental state.

The latter is exacerbated by Robert's destructive alternate persona, the Void, and this proved to be the hero's undoing during the Siege storyline. The murderous entity took complete control over the Sentry and went on a rampage throughout Asgard, savagely defeating multiple Avengers and even killing Ares and Loki in the process.

The latter's death greatly angers Thor, who then summons a massive lightning bolt to depower the super-being to his mortal form. Robert then begs the deity to kill him but Thor refuses, claiming that he should atone for his crimes and live with the weight of them.

Unfortunately, the Void resurfaces for a moment and this forces Thor to give the despondent man what he wanted. After killing Sentry, Thor takes his remains to the sun and cremates him there.
