2. He Was Replaced As Starlord (No Hyphen) By Sinjin Quarrel
In 1996, when Peter Quill - the original Star-Lord - had been missing for twelve years, the telepathic Probiti law enforcement official known as Sinjin Quarrel stumbled upon his old sentient ship in the jungle whilst sleepwalking, having been mysteriously drawn there. The evil Damyish - who was believed to have killed the original Star-Lord (he hadn't) - heard about that and investigated. Damyish stole part of the ship, prompting Quarrel to use the ship and Star-Lord's old equipment to retrieve it and flee, at which point he fought to stop Damyish from taking over the Carina Cluster area of space through military force. In doing so, he took on the mantle of Starlord (albeit without the hyphen) and, having succeeded, headed off into the galaxy to help the ship find her former friend and pilot, Peter Quill. He only ever appeared in six issues.
