10 Things You Didn't Know About Star-Lord

1. His Sentient Ship Used To Be A Star

Star-Lord's ship in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie was an ordinary spacecraft known as "The Milano", thanks to director James Gunn's childhood crush on actress Alyssa Milano, but his ship in the comics - which he simply called "Ship" - actually began life as a sentient star who went by the name of Aurora. Aurora watched the planets around her grow and change and eventually become homes to sentient life. One day, a race of aggressive beings arrived and wiped out most of the inhabitants on her planets and caused her to explode, wiping out what life remained and destroying all of the planets in her solar system. The result was that her essence was spread over a great distance. The being known as the Master of the Sun gathered her essence and, when Peter Quill went to him seeking aid, the powerful entity turned Aurora into a ship, giving her to Peter Quill as he became the hero known as Star-Lord. She was later utilised and befriended by the aforementioned Sinjin Quarrel, who named her "Rora". So there you have it - ten things you didn't know about Star-Lord. Did you enjoy this article?
